Pre-Employment : Job Postings

As openings appear either from employee attrition or from new positions being created, requests for personnel are first routed through channels via the Personnel Action Request module. If the position already exists, the manager simply indicates the position in his or her department which needs to be filled and sends the request for approval. If the request is approved, the system first searches within the database of applications received for previous postings. If matches are found, the manager is notified and can review them on-line. If no suitable matches are located, the position is automatically posted to the job board. The position’s job duties, requirements and description are automatically available for potential applicants to review prior to submitting their application.

If the opening is for a new position, the manager describes the position with the duties, requirements, shift information, pay rate and other descriptive details. Preparing the job description, the manager can review similar positions within or outside his department and clone elements appropriate to the new position, saving hours and reducing the potential for misdescribing the position. Once the position has been described, the request follows the same, or different, approval route. If approved, the system begins by checking existing applications for matches and, if none are found, posts the opening to the on-line job board.
